Expat Learnings

Things I’ve learned as an American expat in the UKoGBaNI #8

Online videos from the US are often blocked for viewing in the UK (and other non-US locales).

Most notably, this occurs with all videos that are popular and trending on various social media sites or videos that interest me. Here’s a screen grab of one of the more cheeky messages that I’ve seen when attempting to watch a video.

Here’s another, more politically correct message, because we Americans are all about being politically correct for fear of a lawsuit.

I don’t know who’s at fault for the blocking of videos, the US or the country I’m physically residing when I attempt to view the videos but damn, it sure is frustrating.
