Expat Learnings

Things I’ve learned as an American expat in the UKoGBaNI #18

English language in schools

Some European countries teach British English and others teach American English.

As a general observation, I’ve found that Eastern European countries + Russia + the Middle East speak American English and almost all other countries speak British English. When looking at a restaurant menu, one can never really be certain if “chips” means “potato chips/crisps” or fries.

First world problems.
