Daylight savings time
Daylight savings is observed on different dates in the US and the UK/Europe.
Note: The state of Arizona and a few US territories (i.e. Puerto Rico) do not observe daylight savings time.
For most of the year, the time difference between the UK and the central time zone in the US is six hours. For a few weeks in the spring and a few weeks in the autumn (and based on which country observes first), the time difference changes to five or seven hours.
As an example:
- 8 March 2020 – The US moves its clocks ahead one hour.
- Five hours difference.
- 29 March 2020 – The UK moves its clocks ahead one hour.
- Six hours difference
- 25 October 2020 – The UK moves its clocks back one hour.
- Five hours difference
- 1 November 2020 – The US moves its clocks back one hour.
- Six hours difference.
