Walla Walla wine awards (autumn 2017)

Now for the moment probably no one has been waiting for, the Walla Walla wine awards.

Best in Show

The award for Best in Show goes to Va Piano’s 2016 Rosé. I was so pleasantly surprised by this wine that I had to give it top honors. The duck approves too!

Most Yummy

The award for Most Yummy goes to Va Piano’s 2012 Syrah. I am in love with this wine but dislike the label.

Best Value

The award for Best Value goes to Gifford Hirlinger’s 2014 Stateline Red. At only $20 a bottle, this wine is a very good value for money.

Best Label

The award for Best Label goes to Kontos’s 2014 Syrah. I often make the mistake of buying wine based on its label but there was no mistake with this bottle of wine. Good wine. Good label.
